nice lead so decided to throw face cards in crib and hope for a possible run. It really cost only two points but with cut I got far more. hopefully oppn fills out the crib also

At this score, anything probably wins, but this looked best. Cut worked great.

I have seen the charge of the light brigade too many times lately. I thibk for a better chance for a skunk I would have loved to do A-3 in the crib. However to secure a wun Im going with the better offemsive hand and keep 4 points. Also keep two open run possibilities open. Maybe a score of 107-82 or 105-80 would have done a bigger crib chance. dec

I always throw A-K with this hand. More cards working for me in hand and the least helpful cards in the crib.

I tossed A-3 in my own crib, hoping to catch the pone's A or 2 for 4 or 5 points.

No need to go crazy on the pegging, I like my position to go out next deal

Assuming skunks are in play, I toss the A-3 hoping for an explosive crib. It should be hard to lose from here - but I've done it!

keeping the 3-5-7 gives you more possibilities for pegging and improvement. Put the A-K in crib as pone will be much more likely to put a King in there than a Jack.

I see no reason to break Ras's small hand rule so I'll keep 4pts tbat means discarding A-3, A-7, A-J, A-K or 3-7. 3-7 isn't logical as it breaks up both near touching cards. A-J and A-K aren't very helpful to crib and out of A-3 and A-7 I prefer
A-3. As it happens with the 4 cut I'd have been better with A-J/K 8-(

Playing an Optimal strategy the dynamic expected averages and Win %'s are:

OPTIMAL------Hand-Pegs-Crib-Total---W1 %----W2 %
5-7-J-K______6.48+0.80+4.41=11.69___23.7____91.4
3-5-7-K______6.52+1.24+3.56=11.32___13.9____90.9
3-5-7-J______6.78+1.28+3.25=11.32___15.3____91.7
3-5-J-K______6.65+0.50+3.78=10.93___16.4____90.0
A-3-5-7______5.30+1.76+3.81=10.88___12.2____87.1
A-5-J-K______6.43+0.43+3.66=10.53___17.4____89.5

A-3 to crib is best on expected averages and Win % so I will keep 5-7-J-K.

After the 4 cut I'll play Offense to the lead.
