Keep the 7 points. Cribs minimal but pone is really short will need to keep points. Playing off here probably using the King first on a few situations here. Easy one. dec

Lose the two cards that don't help. What else is there?

Keep the flush. The cut gives me 12, so I'll off, if I can.

If the pone leads a J, then what?

Has to be the flush and the run. After the 10 cut I'll play off as well. If pone leads a J, I'd play the 9. At least we know where two 10's are.

Based on our respective positions and it being my crib, I will hold the 7-point flush.

Matt, where possible can I suggest a weekly mix of an average as follows:- 2.5 hands from the regulars here, 1.5 from e-cribbage and keep to just 1 the random hands. Sometimes the latter are interesting other times they have little to offer. Any other views?

No problem here, nothing to see, move it along.

If we get enough suggested hands, why bother with random hands? These should only be used to fill in when there's nothing else available. Even "easy" suggested hands are rarely as easy as the random hands.

I would like to hear any reason for not retaining the flush from those who haven't picked it.

Have to assume that those who did not keep the flush failed to note the existence of same. Why would anyone with the deal and a reasonable lead choose to start with less than the seven points offred by keeping the flush? This is such an obvious flush as the cards are all in a row which is often not the case. Creative minds have great potential - those that kept three points and loaded their crib with 7-K may be the Thomas Edisons of tomorrow.

Just to show the magnitude of the difference!

DEFENSE------Hand---Pegs--Crib-Total--W2 %--W3 %
9-10-J-K_____9.46+(-2.26)+3.87=11.07__4.9___66.6
7-9-10-J_____5.26+(-2.24)+3.59= 6.61__1.1___45.0

After the 10 cut I will play off to the lead.
