While trailing Pone by Eleven Holes on this day of the Winter Solstice (and therefore the shortest daylight day of the year), we are the Current Dealer sitting just Two Holes beyond the Second Street Par Hole 44. ⛄ 🌄 🛷
We could hold a Double Run and Keep (3 4 4 5) and Toss (4 8), an idea which prepares us for business but is lacking in the Crib. Or, we might find solace by holding a PAIRS Royal with a Fifteen-Two 'to boot' via Keep (3 4 4 4) and Toss (5 8), another idea which also begins with Eight Points. 🎱 While the Double Run shall tend toward a higher Expected Average from our Hand, if we retain the PAIRS Royal 'and then some,' we get to 'soup up' our Crib with the likes of Toss (5 8). Alternatively, we could also consider Keep (3 4 4 8) and Toss (4 5), a concoction that is evidently the most powerful Dealer Discard at our disposal today. 🦍 Trailing by Eleven Holes is what should concern us most here, and that begs us to consider sticking with the Double Run, which is likely our best Pegging Hand, and in addition is usually a Hand with the potential for good growth. But ironically, because it's "open" on both ends, the 3-4-4-4 PAIRS Royal ensemble actually has a higher Expected Average than the Double Run! 🏃🏻♀️ 🏃🏻♂️ Let's Toss (5 8) today, and retain the PAIRS Royale Deluxe with a splendid Eighteen Chances (2222, 333, 4, 555, 7777, 888) for a Cut Card that will generate a Dozen Points or more, which translates to 18/46 equals 0.391 or nearly a 40% (as in "partly cloudy") chance of occurring! ⛅ After the Deuce Cut, we now have Seventeen Points in our Hand, with prospects for an Average Crib, and if Pone has sent any "Matching" Cards our way, such as a Deuce, 5 Card, or 8 Card our way, we could be back in this game and then some! 🍷 🧀 |

I’m going to play for the 2,5 7 or 8 cut here-was tempted to throw 45 to mitigate against a 6 cut but decided against it |

How to retake the lead and have a good par position. Keep the triple eleven hand and discard a nickel to the crib. 2 3 4 5 look like bingo cuts. Here I present a two cut and they discard 2-8 to our crib. They have a face cards four point hand. Our main hand is seventeen, crib is a dozen and we out peg them 4-2. Score after this hand would be 79-63. Dream scenario , Merry Xmas. dec |

With the flock. 5 different cards for 14 or more. Eolus619 says: Morning Jazz..a great application of your increasingly famous cribbage theorem ..the answer is the answer until it isn’t the answer ❗️in this case ..with these six dealt cards it IS best to play for a favorable cut
Play the game without a favorable starter card. You're likely to miss more cuts than you receive and don't believe you can improve your cutting ability. Most strong tournament players plan their hand, strategy, etc. without the benefit of the starter card. If the starter card is favorable, that is an unplanned bonus.
