Eolus619 | The obvious discard options are..6-A..J-J..6-J.. as n/der, on game's first hand, are you going full out offense or not |

As non dealer first hand, offense would be our strategy. I believe this would be a better hand for pegging than holding two pairs. Also there are more cuts that improve the value of this hold and less cards that don't add value vs. holding 77JJ. |

Tough discard, and difficult lead, take your pick. ⛏
Let's Toss (6 J) today. Lead either a 7 Card or the Jack. ☕ 🥯 Here's one of my favorite Content 🏍 Creators: https://www.youtube.com/@ItchyBoots Rosemarie44 says: Hi - I just finished a couple of episodes going from Iran to Iraq. Noraly had no lights on the bike and the wires were cut on her horn! She was fed, her bike was repaired and they wouldn't accept payment. Such kindness and generosity. I wonder how many languages she spoke. Thanks for sharing. JQT says: Her bike was actually stolen and ALL the wires were cut, but the special harness she had custom built had dual wires as complete redundancy was part of the design! It's okay to watch her current Season 8 and then jump back to other Seasons, but it's best I think to watch each season starting from Episode 1. Seasons 2 and 6 are her Patagonia to Alaska trip, which was broken up due to Covid I believe. Start at Episode 1, and you will see the bike design and then later the theft and recovery! |

Same 6 J . Three considerations for me. I did not consider the extra point chance on keeping the Jack spades keep ( more spades available). Comments? . If it was K-Q or K-K even would consider discarding those. I believe this is a way that you could fall way behind by discarding the Jacks. I like my chances better on the Jack lead although would consider who I was playing. dec |

Hedging. Elsewhere on the board I might toss JJ and go for the 16. |

Keep the 4 I have and not help them. Probably lead a 7 just for fun. |

6 Q to dealer, like everyone else (who has commented) so far, the points from this discard seemed best to me. Gougie00 says: The Jack of Hearts is identifying as a Queen? |

I have a hard time throwing 1 Jack, much less 2! Gougie00 says: How 'bout a little fire Scarecrow? I admire your courage here. |

Kept the pairs and got 5 points. I don’t discard jacks. |

Another first hand of the game and not much to work with. I like the A-7-7 combo best out of this group and so that means I'm tossing 6-J bc I'm not tossing J-J. After the T starter I have a meager 4 points so I'll lead a 7 and try to peg as many points as I can. |

Am tempted to pitch the Jacks and keep the good melding hand and peggers, but that seems dangerous first hand. So, do I pitch A-6 or 6-J? A-6 leaves an inflexible hand and 6-J would force me to lead the Ace and keep an inflexible hand. Talked myself back into the Jacks. Will see if that costs me the game. |

I'd like to keep 677 together, but I also want to keep the two Jacks. Five cards is one too many.
I don't know if there are any Eagles or Chiefs fans amongst the contributors, but congratulations/commiserations as appropriate. |

Come to my island, Mark lol. I went with the hand that had more cuts and peggers.
MarktheShark says: Coconut drinks with tiny umbrellas, bananas and relaxing? Unfortunately, our aggressive pitch might put Dealer ahead by a street after the Ten is cut. Had the cut been a mid-card, however, we would be smiling. Oh well, we should be able to peg a few with these cards ... maybe even trap a 5. |

Sorry if this double posts, I can’t see my previous comment, just want to wish a happy birthday to the author of 1646’s ‘Ballade upon a wedding’ and wish you all good cuts today (unless your playing me) JQT says: Here is the full poem:

Call me crazy - it's a real ugly 2 pair keep. (A 7 7 J) has a few extra cuts which offer additional help, but I have an aversion both to throwing J's, and keeping a lone A as pone (and sometimes dealer as well for that matter.) I think the two pairs could end up being better for me on the pegging, or at least not cost me as much. As it were, I would have discarded the JH had I a choice, so this would have ended up being a point swing in the other direction. MiketheExpert says: Discarding both J's and keeping the better value hand with help and better pegging prospects might be about as good as discarding one of them here. In fact, all 3 of choices are rather poor, so take your pick on what is the least bad of the bunch. |

Thanks to all for your comments. Some considerations to ponder ..if, as n/d, you decide to toss pairs be aware 11/13 average over six across the board..only Qs & Ks do not & they both average above five. Organizing Ras’s best N/D balk list in a way to be useful to you will be helpful to your game…6-J is on it …A-6 is not. As Pone, on GFD, you will have to occasionally decide when Colvert’s counsel to play all out offense does not apply. The question is…what causes you NOT to do so…and that can only come , I think, with experience.

After serious deliberations going on in my head, I decided to toss 6A. Didn’t really like options today, but wanted to keep Js. After that keeping 7s as well seemed best. |
