I'm running it to the ground. Going for an eight point hand with crib implications doesn't fancy me.dec |

Hand adds up to a "magic eleven". simon.meth says: Plus a 10/J/Q/K was the most likely cut for 6 points :) |

I'll audible laugh when dealt this hand because it's a perfect microcosm of this game where we're already down 10 as pone. Honestly, I've mentally conceded this game when this hand presents itself. |

Difficult to not throw something dangerous. Would rather throw aces than deuces. |

Mr, Dylan is singingβ itβs not dark yet, but itβs gettin thereβ β¦my choices were sending the As or A-2..wanted to keep an A-4-5..so this keep gets cut help from 13/13 ranks ..recall when tossing pairs across the board ..only Qs & Ks average less than 6 points in the crib..but that might be an ok choice depending on your six dealt cards and position

We are in big trouble at this score. Iβm going all out for the 16 hand. Any face (and remaining two aces and 2s) gives us 8. Maybe we steal a few pegs if dealer gets careless. tevdodd says: The trouble with the 16 hand is you're supplying the crib with 3+ to do it. guideontheside says: I chose the same as him, going for the 16 - to me it's worth it. No matter what, you are either holding 2 and passing 0, or holding 4 and passing 2. This is the only thing that gives me a chance.

After two days of Pone Hands with "Don't Care" Cribs, today we DO CARE about the Crib Value! Let's see how this alters the maps: π

We're going to have to avoid Toss (4 5), and then, even if we can out-peg the Dealer, we may incur a NET LOSS in what we can control today. The "Least Bad" idea seems to be (A A 4 5), because even though we're giving a PAIR away in the Enemy Crib, we do have Twenty-Three Cut Cards (or HALF the deck!) that yield Eight Points. π± Toss (4 5) is simply out of the question, but Toss (A 4) is an interesting possibility. Toss (A 2) has the lowest Crib Value, but it destroys BOTH of our PAIRS, and it could explode in the Enemy Crib.π Let's Toss (2 2) today, because it's probably our "Least Bad" option. After the Queen Cut, we have Eight Points. Let's lead the 4 Card and try to imagine a Two-Point Crib. π Wordle 1,427 5/6 (Beethoven's Drinking Companion) π₯ β¬π¨β¬β¬β¬ β¬β¬β¬β¬π© β¬β¬β¬β¬π© β¬π©β¬π©π© π©π©π©π©π© Eolus619 says: JQT..i might not testify to this being Beethovenβs drinking companion JQT says: Beethoven said, "What?!" (burp). Incidentally, if you type "Beethoven Cribbage" into AI/ChatGPT such as the Google RankBrain generative AI, it pauses for nearly ten seconds (I thought smoke might start pouring out!), and then comes back perplexed! Okay, back to Cribbage: With (A A 2 2), Twenty-Four Cuts will yield Eight Points or more, but if we hold onto (A A 4 5) instead, now we still have Twenty-Three Cuts that yield Eight Points, and Nineteen of those Cut Cards, namely all of those "Nickels and Dimes" or (555, TTTT, JJJJ, QQQQ, KKKK), will have to try to "mix" with Toss (2 2) in the Enemy Crib with that latter choice, as opposed to Toss (4 5)! π΅ |

Triple Nickels. The 4 is the proper lead then dump the 5 on an X-Card response. Try for the (31-4). |

This is where I am so bad about choosing to go with offense or defense. Do I worry about moving myself, or stopping them? Everything I have to toss has the possiblility of a dozen crib, so I a going for my own dozen with all of the available face cards. Thanks for doing the same, Mike LOL |

We are in deep trouble, but it is too early for the desperation 4-5 pitch. Pitch the 2-2 and hope for the reasonable cut to inch our way back into contention. scottcrib says: Agree. |

Behind and non-dealer. That should be the title to my upcoming autobiography!! Lifeβs too short to be passive and this board position calls for action. Thanks to the Q I now have 8 in my hand and hopefully I can peg some points. Lead a 2. |

Since there are no good options I think donating a pair of deuces might be better than the 4-5 while still giving us a chance for points. |
