goatman | I know I have enough to go outβ¦if I get to count my hand. What is the best throw to stop pone from pegging, 33 or 77? Is there another option Iβm missing? |

This hand probably has the best potential for holding pone to zero pegs-itβs highly unlikely we can peg 9 to go out but the A33 combo gives us the best potential chance-congrats to Scott on winning the John Medeiros Memorial in Durham yesterday scottcrib says: Thanks! |

This is bleak. We need to peg 9 or hold them from any pegging as they hold a hand of 6 or less. We keep the 3s on the off chance they have the other 2 and we can peg this out. Play the 9 on any non-3 lead.

The pone only needs 7 and he's probably already got 7 points. Gotta peg. Obnoxious offense required. |

Keeping the low pegging cards. Maybe we dealt pone a dud hand. |

I lead the 3 hopping the rival will double the 3 inorder to play the 2nd 3 pair royal for 6 and hopecthat he not have the last 3 118-116 to our favor its a problem that we count last but we have the A for nob if we had a chance yo use it. Hope for good tevdodd says: We are the dealer today, so they are leading. Just about the only good thing about today. :) orvani says: Correct my mistake they are leadong the first card outchance is to double the 3 or with a luck even triple it with 2 for 31 |

I've lost as pone from this position too many times, so I'm not willing to peg offensively. Let's see what happens. mfetchCT425 says: Congratulations on your win this weekend Scott. Well done. scottcrib says: Thanks Mike! SallyAnn3 says: So well done Scott, especially against Denise and her lucky Wilbur pegs :) Congrats!
scottcrib says: Thanks Sally! Yep, those Wilbur pegs are a force. π |

Itβs about pegging today..but a bonus to this puzzle is when playing as dealer from a different board position, & pairs are involved, it makes sense to know where Ras has their averages grouped ..so for another time and place ..fyi

As we really need to keep pone to zero pegging points if it all possible, I'm going to stick my neck out and keep the two pairs, even if it increases the chance of failing to score sufficiently in hand and crib to go out this hand. |

At 112*-114 playing an Optimal strategy for the pegging (cautious offense) the Win/Loss %s are:
Optimal____________Win %__________Loss % A-7-7-9_____________25.3___________74.7 3-7-7-9_____________22.5___________77.5 3-3-7-7_____________21.9___________78.1 A-3-7-7_____________21.7___________78.3 3-3-7-9_____________20.9___________79.1 A-3-3-9_____________19.0___________81.0 A-3-7-9_____________17.3___________82.7 A-3-3-7_____________16.1___________83.9 A-7-7-9 is best for Win %s and lowest for Loss %s so I'll select the 3-3 to discard. After the K cut I'll play Defense to the lead. |
