We're in trouble, but I'm looking for the YAHTZEE 4 cut moving us to 88 minimum trying to go home in my 4 counts from here. Lead 6c.

It may be time for new glasses or stronger coffee, and this is why I don't play in tournaments. I thought the Five was a Club so I kept a hand like it was a flush. Duh. |

INUSHTUK: Hey Mike, I found A23566 as the dealer - Ras kept A235 (threw 66) and Hal retained A236 (56). 4/21/2014. scottcrib says: I think 66 would be my third choice with that hand. It's 23 then 56 for me. tevdodd says: I agree with Scott. Inushtuk1 says: Thank you Dan. Jazzselke says: Yes I like 23 Jazzselke says: Correction, 8/26/3014 DCH Jazzselke says: Correction, 8/26/3014 DCH Jazzselke says: Geez not a 1000 years from now! Inushtuk1 says: Got it. Thanks Dan. Eolus619 says: Good detective work Dan…Ras’s entire explanation is worth the read ..but i copy/paste this portion .. 2-3, 5-6, or 6-6 must be quite close as to value. Just ran a query on Cribbage Prof and the Prof shows combined values of 14.25 for holding A-5-6-6 with 2-3 discard; 14.23 for retaining A-2-3-5 and discarding 6-6; and A-2-3-6 with discard of 5-6 wades in at 14.22. ….and fyi Ras was playing defense |

Not a very palatable position for us today-we need a lot of things to break our way to finagle this victory-the first domino to fall is getting a cut to give us 12 to 16 points-the 7 cut provides that help so phase 1 is a success-the pegging is probably not going to be super productive-I would lead the 6 and hope dealer makes a bad decision and matches( probably very unlikely here tho) -I think the best we can hope for is a go on the first series and a 15 on the second |

It was wrong yesterday, but I'll try 2-3-6-6 again.
3-2-6 combo might be useful for pegging. 39/46 cuts are helpful = nearly 85% success rate. Well I just can't bring myself to hold 4 points, and toss (2-2), which averages 6.38 (Schell), and 6.19 (Ras). Lead the 6, and bump up the count; unless Dealer responds with a deuce. Trying to hold my deuces to play them back to back if that seems reasonable. ryman554 says: Yeah, but how is this holding gonna grow? I count 4 here with a max of.. 12 if I get a 2?
Tossing the 22 ain't ideal, but it gives me a better chance at a 4 for 16 or 7 for.. 10. Neither get really me back in the game, but I need points here as dealer is gonna be well beyond 96 next time they touch the cards no matter what we do. We need to start taking risks, don't we? |

Tossing 3-6 doesn’t give away anything immediately to the crib and still keeps 4 points in hand and cards that may bring more. 7 starter helps |

Ultimately more about the dealers score here then us gaining back all that ground. dec |

At this board position, need to be aggressive and hope to get a favorable cut to get us near 88-90 after any pegs. That would give us a life-line next hand to potentially pull off a win. fentesk says: Nice job on Daily Scrimmage! |

TBH I wasn't sure about this but it may have worked depending on what they tossed.

I am a bit surprised there are so many votes for the 2-2-5-6 keep ... it is one of those 15's that are easy to miss at the table. I see two main choices here ... do we go for the cut for the 16-hand by pitching the potentially dangerous 2-2 or do we not feed Dealer's crib and pitch the less dangerous 3-6? Inushtuk1 says: I like this four card fifteen. ryman554 says: I admit I didn't catch this 15.
But I think playing conservative here seals our fate. Damn the torpedoes..... MarktheShark says: Reviewing Hal's values below, we have little chance of winning this game whichever of these two pitches we make, but we have a much greater chance of losing by living dangerously for the cut. I will wait for a better hand to gamble on ... or to cut the spread points on. A question of personal philosophy. MarktheShark says: Both pitches are relatively happy with the nice 7 cut ... bringing 12 to the 2-2 pitch and 11 to the 3-6 pitch. Only a 4 cut helps the 2-2. |

At 72-83* playing an Offense strategy for the pegging the dynamic expected averages and Win/Loss %s are:
_______________Our Offense___Hand_Pegs_Crib____Total___W2 %___W3 % 2-2-5-6C___7.04+1.61+(-4.00)=4.65____0.0____3.8 3-5-6-6____7.87+1.63+(-5.82)=3.68____0.1____5.0 2-3-5-6*___4.30+2.85+(-4.32)=2.83____0.2____3.6 2-2-3-5____6.91+2.22+(-6.48)=2.65____0.2____4.4 Offense______L2 %___L3 % 2-2-5-6C______3.5____56.8 3-5-6-6_______5.8____64.1 2-3-5-6*______4.0____59.1 2-2-3-5_______7.8____66.5 2-2-5-6C is best for expected averages by 0.97pt. and although 3-5-6-6 is slightly best for Win %s 2-2-5-6C is considerably lowest for Loss %s. So I'll select the 3-6S to discard. After the 7 cut I'll lead a 2 and play Offense: Lead_____________Our Pegging Points 2_______________________1.83 6_______________________1.46 5_______________________1.07 |
