This hold seemed to be the best choice at 12 points to start.
Rosemarie44 says: Inushtuk1: I did not see your message until this morning. Please send Matt an email at dailycribbagehand@gmail.com of your interest in taking over moderator duties. Thank you for stepping up to the task.
Gougie00 says: Fwiw, I also have moderator privileges. Ras used to edit and remove puzzles he deemed not worthy. I've never deleted any puzzles ever surmising the person that entered them in the first place had their reasons. I suspect this morning's puzzle, which looks really simple, was from someone deleting the original submitted puzzle.
Inushtuk1 says: Hi Rosemarie. I will send Matt an email. Thank you.
Inushtuk1 says: Hi GougieOO. I can't remember what the original puzzle was now; but I think we could have kept that one; and just imagined the second 5h was any other suit. Just my take on it; and if I do become a moderator, I won't be deleting puzzles right, left, and center. I have only deleted two puzzles *ever*; and that was because the same puzzle was submitted three days in a row; and I simply deleted the second and third one.

A lovely reminder that not every hand is a puzzle to be unwrapped in a non-conventional way.

and the catch is? I don't see one. Maybe this one is 100%. Queen of club lead although maybe a five lead has its advantages. dec
Inushtuk1 says: Why the Qc lead dec? I know you have one.

I see giving up the J would be a reason for not going this way, but not worth breaking up a 12 point hand.

It's unusual for the submission to be anonymous.

111-121 loss today. I blame the pegging, as I'm pretty happy with my discards.

I guess the lesson today is: sometimes you have to toss the J. Lead the Qh.
Inushtuk1 says: Standard toss on both sides of the board.
