I like the 55 to the crib SallyAnn3 says: Forgot to tell you that the day after you asked me about Eolus in SC, he sent me an email. So, he must be ok enough to do that. Maybe just taking a break from here? HaydenSr says: Things got heated with him and marktheshark, so they both left, or atleast quit commenting. SallyAnn3 says: Sigh...has everyone forgotten how to agree to disagree? |

I, too, prefer 55 rather than 56 Tony crib. |

I would have tossed 5/5 6 cut 8 hand/ possible 6-14 crib. Probably low scoring pegs. dec |

2-3-3 sticks together and so do those 5s.

Like the 5-5 to crib and keeping the 2-3-3 combo together. |

When in doubt toss the 55. I wish I knew the 7 would be cut. |

Once again this is well within both parts of the Big Hand Rule's questions. The 4 cut gives us 12 in the hand, and the potential for 24 in the Crib. Defense to the lead. |

I decided to be different today and it worked!

Pone held 5,j,q,k discarded a pair of 8s. I pegged 12, dozen in my hand and 14 crib. Gougie00 says: The bipolar cribbage was on your side of the table that day. What happens when a facecard is cut and the opponent zooms down the board? Inushtuk1 says: I agree with Gougie. Play the hand on the bottom of the page 10 times your way against the Cribbage Pro app, and record your relative positions. Do the same with the (5-5) discard. I guarantee you will be better off probably 70% of the time with the latter discard. Inushtuk1 says: Actually using the Crib Pro app below will skew the results; because the cut will always be the 7, and that melds with the (2-6) you tossed. So even if the Pone is not so generous as to toss you (8-8); every time your results will be slightly better than average. The best way to test it is to remove the 6 cards we dealt ourselves today, and deal out 6 random cards. Toss the two cards you would actually toss if you were Pone into your Crib, and then cut the deck for the starter. Like JQT used to say, the problem with learning to play better Cribbage is the game is not necessarily self-correcting. When you make what the majority of us today think is a mistake, and it works, you remember that positive result, and will repeat it the next time this, or a similar hand crops up. So as I said, make it a completely random cut, and random, but *logical* discards, and test it out. If you do that simple homework, you will learn a valuable lesson I believe. |

I really really wanted to give myself the 5s. But.. I decided against it bc I still get a lot of nitro with the 2-3 and for pegging. If non-dealer has all Xs in their hand I could peg 6+ easily. Good cut! Tally hoe!! |

Tossing the 2,3 to my crib today and honestly only the 8 misses this hold. |

At 0*-0 playing a Defense strategy for the pegging the dynamic expected averages and Win/Loss %s are:
_______________Pone's Defense___Hand_Pegs____Crib_Total____W9 %____W10 % 2-3-3-6____6.43+(-2.28)+8.70=12.85____45.4____49.3 2-3-3-5____7.04+(-2.24)+6.61=11.41____42.1____52.3 3-5-5-6____6.57+(-2.20)+6.61=10.98____41.3____53.3 Defense_______L9 %____L10 % 2-3-3-6________42.3____29.9 2-3-3-5________29.4____23.4 3-5-5-6________26.3____21.7 2-3-3-6 is best for expected averages by 1.44pts and it is slightly best for Win %s although very much worst for Loss %s. So I'll select the 5-5 to discard. After the 7 cut I'll play Defense to the lead. |
