| Gougie00 | Not so easy decision. Hold 2-3 with 10-J or toss 2-3 and hold the 4 run? |

23 direct outs (8+) vs 13 for 89TJ. Today we found one of those 23.
Lead the 2 (Which I would also do if we were short). Cribbage Pro Daily Scrimmage Score: 121 to 104 45 Hand 1 then all chalk. Wordle 1,606 5/6* ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛🟩🟨⬛⬛ 🟨🟩⬛⬛🟩 ⬛🟩🟨⬛🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 One of the more interesting paths to wordle I've had. tevdodd says: 17 for 89TJ |

5 to Q gets me out or into pegging range. Thats a wide target. |

Game hole cuts this hold has more 18 to 16. Other add on cuts also a winner 13 against 11. Pegging four would be difficult with either hold. But we got a winner cut here lead my best guess is the two. See if you do not rush into a choice there is a better calculated guess here. dec duke62 says: Aren't there 23 out cuts (vs. 17?)

I believe we had some discussion about this before; but I'm a slow learner. dec says: I reneged on the 4D 5s non D and the 5D makes the take stronger ty Duke. The two lead makes the three less likely in a run trap , spread points considered. dec Inushtuk1 says: that's what I was thinking. Thanks dec for answering. |

No middle-card cut please. If we didn't get a hit, I would lead a face-card to hold onto the deuce and trey. scottcrib says: yes |

I hate hands like this on my last deal. I guessed right this time. Interesting to learn the way to break this one for future reference.
Happy Veteran's Day and Thank you for your Service. Sgt Pegger says: Great puzzle Gregory! And thank you for Veteran nod. |

I think this gives us the most shots at 8 (or close to 8) points. And I like the pegging possibilities (if needed) slightly more than other viable options. |

Liking this option. Good chance to improve hand from cut and has pegging cards |

In the end game, I'm more cautious than at the start.
Can't send 2-3 to opp when all he needs is 16 combined pts(hand, crib, pegging) to win. So I hold 23TJ, sending 8-9 to Opp. 8-9 in opp crib can explode, but more often than not, it's fairly safe. |

I decided to try to win the game by holding the 4 card run. Any match (or a 5) wins the game. I got lucky. |

Many more helpful cuts, plus low peggers. THANKS to all of the Vets! |

Armistice Day today. The Great war ended this day, 107 years ago. The peace didn't last, and 21 years later Britain was at war again.

A-3 5. 6-9 6. 2-8 7. 4-9 8. 5-K, (only a few holes out). I'm interested to hear what others did with hand one. I'm not sure my choice of 4-5 is best. Maybe 9-9 or 7-9 instead? 4-5-6-7-9-9 at *0-0 for those who haven't played. tevdodd says: I haven't looked specifically, but I think we played mirror games this morning. BennieO says: 9-9 was my toss round one. Pone and I both landed 8 points through pegging. I got 16 points in hand and the pairs 9s were the only 2 points in the crib. A 9 would have come in handy against their 6 lead. With holding 4-5-6-7 there’s no play-off option. In retrospect, I’d like to have kept at least one 9 in hand. Inushtuk1 says: That is a very interesting hand to have at 0*-0.The Star Toss system says toss (4-5). But the resultant 6-7-9-9 misses on too many cuts, and the (4-5) in the Crib is just not enough to make up for that. On the other hand the 6 lead is quite problematic with the long run. I will submit this as a DCH puzzle, and look forward to hearing from "the wise guys". james500 says: Thanks all for the feedback. It will make an interesting puzzle, Mike, yes. fentesk says: I sent the 9-9 but got chewed up in the pegging (lost 5-10). That was the theme for me today, opponent regularly had a hand to exploit the pegging (-22). I'm sure games like this can be educational, but instead they make me question why I keep spending time on Scrimmage (2-3-5-5-5-5 as pone to give up 22 points, wow, such fun). I managed to "win" but it doesn't feel like it. |

2-3-10-J has six cuts to 8+ (2, 3, 5, 10, J, and Q). and 3 more cuts to 8 with the right jack (A♦️, 4♦️, and 9♦️). On the 9♦️cut the play plan is defense. There is a lose scenario here. Do not let the play sequence play out as You:3(3) Them:X(13) You:X(23) Them:2(25) You:2(27/2) Them: 2(29/6) You:”Go” Them:2(31/14). I’d lead 2 and drop the 3 next. I don't think I'm ever sending 2-3 to the opp crib . . . esp not with just a four card run with no 15s. |
